HM DIGITAL/ONLINE EDITION

HM Magazine has two recent issues of the magazine up online in digital form ... but if you've been waiting for the brand new July/August issue to appear alongside it, you might have some questions. That's why this message is here.

The issue is set to post any minute or hour now. Special unique user names and passwords have been generated for each existing subscriber and we're ready to add individual issues as digital issues or all-digital subscriptions to our webstore. However, there's been an unexpected delay. I have failed (miserably) to make sure this dedicated information was mailed along with the latest issue. Apparently, getting the latest issue to the printer and making all the background preparations took more work than I estimated. We're almost ready to get these things delivered.

Here's the scoop: the company that builds the online issues for us (Realview, based out of Australia) is sending out the username and password info to all of our subscribers that have given us email addresses. This amounts to a little over half of our subscribers. The ones we don't have email addresses for? Well, we have to mail their username and password to them.

Now that we're headed to the great Cornerstone Festival, let me share a few options for you existing subscribers who want to start reading the latest online issue (and see all those 17 features we had to cut from the print version).

First of all, if you are a subscriber to HM Magazine and you have never given us your email address to put into our database alongside your mailing address, you can do that now. We will use this once an issue to alert you of the new issue coming out; as well as a friendly email at that time that your subscription expires. If/when you do email us (send this request to contest@hmmag.com), ask for your username and password and we can email it back to you (please include your full name & address as it's on your subscription, so we can properly tie your user info with your subscription).

Secondly, if you're at the Cornerstone Festival, we'll have a print-out of our subscriber list (along with the unique usernames and passwords), and we can give this information to you at our booth (bring a photo ID with you to prove you're an honest and upstanding citizen and subscriber, of course).

Thirdly, sit tight and we'll get the information to you.

Fourthly, we have a special gift for you if you subscribe at one of our festivals. It's a special digital sampler (in the form of a download card), which will give you full access to 17 or so great new songs (from bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Project 86, Becoming The Archetype, These 5 Down, Feast Eternal, and many more...).

Fifthly, a SPECIAL NOTE FOR MAC USERS (as told to me by the realview folks:"...on a Mac it only works with Safari..."
