    Why I’m into rock journalism

I should’ve told this to Joe Perry when I met him and Tom Hamilton at Hamley’s toy store in London.

A conversation between Joseph & Nicodemus

Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus, which he buried with Nicodemus. With the aid of a time machine, I’m reporting what their conversation was like.

The crucible for silver, the furnace for gold…

…but a man is tested by the praise accorded him. (Proverbs 27:21)

I read some interesting things in the Bible lately.

Jesus really did wash Judas’ feet.

What I saw at Cornerstone 2011…

Thoughts and pictures by Doug Van Pelt. Another proper Cornerstone Festival review will post and print soon.

    Another milestone

I briefly explained to him what the plot was. In a few minutes he was at my table, telling me he wanted to buy a copy. He pulled out some cash and bought one. I take that as a good sign (explaining the plot and getting someone to buy it on the spot). I think I might be on to something. I hope so.

A miracle in the next 24?

I don’t know what the future holds, but I sure do love the One that knows the future. I don’t love Him because He has the power to raise funds for HM Magazine. I love Him because He first loved me. He pulled me out of the mess I was in. He’s treated me like royalty, given me hope, purpose and an identity I can be sure of. He’s adopted me as His own. It’s so good to know Him. Even if my print magazine goes digital-only, He’ll still be my Savior. I love God. He’s awesome and I need His help.

HM Volunteer Army – Recruitement Meeting #2

Here is more of a list of my daily or regular duties as the lone worker at HM Magazine. I do have some great people that help out from a distance, by the way, like a team of proofreaders, someone who updates our MySpace and Facebook page and another who composes our weekly News Update website posts and enewsletters.

    HM Volunteer Army Recruitement Meeting

Thanks for reading this blog and thanks for caring about HM Magazine. The past couple of years running HM Magazine have been difficult. I feel bad that the struggle has gone on so long without clear (and miraculous) resolution. I was chatting with Anberlin’s Stephen Christian backstage at the Cornerstone Festival this year and he [...]

My daughter is bawling her eyes out…

Education is such an important part of our lives. When I was younger I didn’t really like school all that much, but boy did I benefit from it. As a parent, it’s easy to feel passionate about the education of your kids. I hate to complain. I really do, but I have to share what’s been going on at the school district in Lago Vista, Texas.
