Inquiring minds want to know...

When you open a new CD, do you tear off that sticker with the barcode and label off the top spine?

  • Or do you slice it down the middle so it stays on the CD?

  • I must confess
, I secretly desire to have a product with a stickered spine. Heck, I'm sure it costs more, but the last time I had a recorded audio product for the magazine (with any sort of retail distro), it did not have that spine sticker. It makes looking through the racks in the store a lot easier, doesn't it? Posted by Doug Van Pelt at June 3, 2008 06:05 PM

I'm actually really good at this (quite the talent, I know), and I don't know why some people have a problem with the sticker. I can peel the sticker up, keeping it in one piece, and I leave the part over the front and top stuck, so I can close it back just as if it had never been opened and return it to the store without a CD inside.

No, I don't really do that. The first part, yes, but returning it to the store, no. I keep my music stealing online.

I am too excited when I get a new CD; unless its one of those hundreds of demos I get in the mail....so I slice the sticker in a hurry, then peel. I have been part of CD's with the sticker, nothing special doug...ha.
