Ugh

Praise the Lord!
I was able to work most of the night.
I hit a wall around 7 am or so, I think.
I'm still several placed ads and updated proof corrections away (plus there's the printing of proofs for each page, which need to get overnighted).

My printer closes the door on a job being turned in that day at noon their time (and they're in the EST), so it looks like this issue is going to be another day late.

I can only do what I can only do, and I praise God for what I've been able to do. I'm just still not "there" yet, and I press on.
(deep breath)

I have no idea if placing this comment on this blog is the right place or not so I'll say I'm sorry before I say it. "Sorry". I have never met you or read your magazine but I just finished reading a chapter out of a book called "Inside the Phenomenon of Christian Rock," by Andrew Beaujon. In this chapter you confront him about his views on "worship" music and he explores the genre deeper becuase of your challenge and he uncovers the "God-centered" part of real worship. Thank you for for reaching out to this author and being real about your faith. Mostly thanks for just being "real" with him. The book is filled is horrible expericnes that the author had with other so called Christians that made me closed my eyes and shake my head. How in the world could God gave the great commission to such a messed people? Again thanks for reaching out to this guy.

I am writing again! I would really like you to write back and comment on something I read in your magazine - that article interviewing "Backcherry" (spelling may be off). I find it hard to comprehend how you can write such great things about the Lord and things your daughter says and then publish the totally rude comments in that article - namely about Jesus body parts. I find it hard to understand how , as I understand it, you glorifying a person who does not even know anything about the man who said "I am the way the Truth and the Life" I sure would appreciate you writing back.

Hi
I wonder if this is the first time you read HM Magazine. I have a regular feature, called "What So & So Says," where I interview an artist that doesn't necessarily fit in with the "Christian music scene." In this interview, we talk about Jesus and spiritual things, among other things. After you read a few more of these, you'll understand the vibe of the feature more and probably be less shocked that we printed what this person actually said about Jesus.

Please don't equate this interview with being contrary to faith. It is actually quite the opposite of contrary to faith. It is actually faith intersecting with the real world. Hopefully, you'll read a few more of these, understand where they're coming from, and it'll be your favorite part of the magazine.

If you'd like a quick peek at several more of these interviews, you can look at the book "Rock Stars on God" or this link has several interviews, too.

Another thought:

You equated printing what this person said in my magazine as "glorifying" him. Re-think that accusation again. It's probably not an accurate conclusion.

Hey Jeff,
Thanks SO much for the encouragement.
I really appreciate it.

I hate to apologize for being too quick to judge, but I will - I am sorry! I did what you said and read a few other articles. I especially found George Fisher's views amazing to read - and yet sad. People don't need to believe exactly like I do ,but Jesus is definitly my only hope and I am so looking forward to seeing Him in heaven. I was thinking the other day of your position as Editor and really Pastor to alot of kids who read your Bible Study, and your daily writings and what an influence you can have in so many people that I as a mother will never meet. God has given you this gift, and yet as Mr. Fisher says " You worked hard to get there and had other people's help along the way." I have decided to be so bold as to put you on my prayer list, for wisdom and continued guidance of the Lord. Now, I will get back to my Homeschooling and cookie baking.

Thanks. I appreciate the kind comments, which you did not have to say. Thanks SO much, too, for praying for me. That is awesome.
