Vote for a cover ... [Today's blog = below...]

I've put together a couple of options for the re-issue of the LC We Are Not Ashamed album. I'm thinking of using all 4 covers (with the original art on the disc itself) in the cd booklet, with interchangable options, so you can fold and choose your own cover, but I'm curious which one you think is best...
Take a look here and tell me what you think.

"BUTCH"

"BLURRY BUTCH"

"HEATED DISCUSSION w/label"

"HEATED DISCUSSION no label"

"ORIGINAL"

"DUANE THE BATHTUB"

"SCRATCH AND SNIFF"

The "Scrach and Sniff" is tempting but I would have I have to give my vote to "Blurry Butch"

i think "heated discussion w/label" is a winner. scratch and sniff is a little...ya, gross.

You have to go with the original, Coca-Cola fouund out the hard way. Lust Control Classic has a nice ring to it.

i would go with the original.
i would not use the poop, as it might send the wrong
message. the message being if it's on the outside
it's going to be on the inside.

Not "Scratch and Sniff", i got gag reflex when I saw it, haha. The Original.

Scratch'n'Sniff, but only if you can actually do that with the CD cover!

Blurry Butch gets my vote.

Though "Scratch and sniff" has some element of shock value working for it, I'm not going to affirm it through mere mention for the previous commenters have already done that more than justice.
Go with "Original." It has a retro/80's feel that I'm personally fond of; it reminds me of the good days of hard rock.

well, I actually dig the "Duane the Bathtub" one.
I'm not quite sure concerning the name, but I like the image. However, it seems I am the only one......

Scratch and Sniff wins the 'Banned by Christian bookstores' vote.

I say go with the original or heated discussion.

Posted by: bob at November 5, 2005 10:09 AM

i pick scratch and sniff or the original

Posted by: jerry myers at November 5, 2005 11:01 AM

i think i like Original the best

Posted by: Christine at November 5, 2005 03:05 PM

I like heated discussion. Unless you can make the original a Scratch 'n Sniff....

Blurry Butch or Duane The Bath Tub are my favorites.

Any hint on the bonus tracks? I remember getting a LC newsletter a long time ago that mentioned you had written the heaviest LC song yet, and you hoped to record it someday (this was just after Femanazi came out). I can't remeber the name of the song. But will we get to hear it? Please? Pretty Please?

Posted by: Matt at November 6, 2005 09:27 PM

I just bought the domain name for the band.
Cool! I'm glad someone asked about the bonus tracks...AND about that song. yes, indeed, that song is on here. It's a live version from the condensor mic on a video camera (which moved around on stage), but somehow captures a hint of the vibe of the song -- "Finger."

Will be curious to hear what you think of it.

Wow! It's cool that someone asked about the bonus tracks...AND about that song! yes, it is indeed that one song the showed a hint of the style/vibe we were going after prior to disbanding. It's a real raw recording, but perhaps gives some clue as to the vibe we were after then.

Sweet... Yes... Thank you... Cool....

So, what about the other songs?

(I turn into an interviewer here)

"So, with all the recent re-issues and new found attention that Lust Control is enjoying, is there any truth to the rumors of a reunion and new material being recorded?"

(okay, I didn't really hear any rumors, but I still want to know :)

Posted by: Matt at November 8, 2005 12:54 PM

he he. wow. someone's actually interested!

we would be glad to do a reunion, i'm sure, if there were enough people to want such a thing; but i think the interest would be less than a hundred people -- and they are probably scattered all over the country. That wouldn't make for much of a concert crowd.

We have no plans or expectations for any reunions or recordings. Thanks for the encouragement!
