You Tth Specialties

It's been neat to interact with so many youth workers here in California. The first day or two I only had mild interaction with the people who were up on the music scene. That last couple of days have been better, talking with folks who are very much into the music scene and familiar with HM. We have our work cut out for us, in growing our circulation and getting the word out on what HM Magazine is. For so many years, I "coasted" on our own momentum, not bothering to market and expose ourselves to new people all the time. The gap of time between then and now, however, has been used well in improving the product, so now as we go out more and introduce ourselves to people, we have more of a solid product to offer.

isn't it awesome to have an opportunity to give of yourself to the younger generation?! having grown up a non-believer and with no adult who knew THE TRUTH, i often made a mess of things. however, because of this past and now being saved, i can relate to many of the things the kids are going through. my question is this concerning the music scene:

is it okay to "semi-educate" the younger ones on secular rock music of yesteryear?

Seems like music is an "essential" element to most people's lives. The type of music which is essential to Christian life may be non-essential.

In sharing the zoe life of God with someone else and/or walking in the Spirit, I think regulations or concerns about grey areas become pretty much irrelevant. For instance, when Jesus and His followers were walking from once place to the next, they ate some grain from the fields, which was against the holy law. Jesus blew the pharisees off when asked; and referenced David and his guys eating showbread from the temple.

So, I'd say questions of this nature are best answered individually. We all have access to the Holy Spirit, Who is our Teacher and Counselor, so we can get guidance from Him. God is good. A maturing believer can have liberties to do many things that might confuse a "babe," but a mature believer will gladly lay down his freedom for the sake of the babe in his midst -- his friend and "baby" brother or sister.
