there was an obvious change in style with both the music and the vocals. I’ve been in the metal scene for a while, since playing guitar for As I Lay Dying, I was like, “Man, I’ve been screaming for so long, let’s do an album on Solid State Records where the music has that heavy side but it’s mostly singing.” I think that album was probably 80% singing and 20% screaming and the new Destroy the Runner record, which was our third album that was going to come out, we totally switched on there to 20% singing and 80% screaming.
“12 Stones has always been a big supporter of our troops and the lives they lead to ensure our freedoms, but I think this experience, in particular, really opened our eyes even more to the harsh reality that is their lives. And not to mention how bad ass these dudes really are!”

I have a real problem with the fact that there is an industry for Christianity. Let’s do a little word experiment. “Christian Music Industry” / Christian music commercial production and sale of goods, sounds like there are some people making money off the name of God, now doesn’t it?
The world looks like its going down the crapper. I know what we need to do. We need to lower our consumption rate. We need to simplify our way of living so we can save valuable resources our earth has to offer. I know I’m the first person that needs to take my own advice.
We have definitely progressed as musicians over the years while doing this band, but the record still sounds like a For Today record. There is a sing-a-long in the song “Seraphim” which is the single that says “Take Your Flame, Ignite the World” and I hope it gets stuck in all of your heads forever!!

Emo’s is a very unforgiving venue with a stage smaller than most college bathrooms, and when you fill an equally limited floor space with tight-jeaned, stretched-lobed kids packed together like a deck of cards, the end result is down right boiling — especially in the prime of the Texas summer. Despite the crippling warmth and tight conditions, Mychildren Mybride poured every ounce of intensity into their forty-five minute set until it was dripping from vocalist Matthew Hastings’ long black hair.
